Acupuncture
Acupuncture is based on the concept of life energy which flows through 'meridians' in the body. The principle aim of acupuncture is to help rebalance the body’s energy flow by inserting very fine needles through the skin at specific points on the body, and to various depths.
We also offer cosmetic facial acupuncture which is suitable for both men and women. Cosmetic facial acupuncture uses fine needles, moxibustion and massage to increase blood and Qi to the face and neck.
What to expect during your treatment
There are 350 acupuncture points in the body. Your acupuncturist will use one or more fine needles at one or more acupuncture points to access the meridians or energy pathways within the body.
After an initial consultation, your therapist will identify a combination of acupuncture points to focus on. You’ll be asked to lie down on your back, front or on one side to allow your acupuncturist to insert fine needles into the skin, at varying depths, to access the meridian pathways with the aim to rebalance the body’s energy flow.
Bach Flower Remedies
Bach Flower Remedies (pronounced Batch) are completely natural flower remedies created by Dr Bach over 100 years ago. His early career was in medicine and his progression from that through to Homeopathy and on to develop a natural alternative by intuitive methods and tested on himself.

During your session you will have time to discuss your needs and the practitioner can then support you through your choices of remedies.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy or CBT, is a family of talking therapies, all based on the idea that thoughts, feelings, what we do, and how our bodies feel, are all connected. If we change one of these we can alter all the others.
When we’re low or upset, we often fall into patterns of thinking and responding which can worsen how we feel. CBT works to help us notice and change problematic thinking styles or behaviour patterns so we can feel better.
CBT is a collaborative therapy - it’s not something that is done to someone, it’s a way of working together with a CBT therapist on mutually agreed goals.

The thought process with many therapies is that all of our reactions in the present to situations are formed from events, situations and traumas in our early years. Zero Balancing
Zero Balancing is a bodywork therapy that uses held stretches, gentle finger pressure and conscious touch to help release held tension and pain, both physical and emotional. Developed in the 1970's by Fritz Smith, a US doctor, osteopath and acupuncturist, it brings together ideas and practise of Eastern healing with the structure of the West. Promoting deep relaxation, through skilled and conscious touch, the treatment is the perfect antidote to the often busy, over-stimulated lives we can find ourselves living. Research shows that the treatment stimulates the parasympathetic branch of the autonomic nervous system, counteracting the fight or flight response that causes anxiety, tension and immune depletion (www.zerobalancinguk.org and www.zbtouch.org )
What to expect during your treatment:
Laying flat and fully clothed on a treatment couch, each session follows a series of stretches, gentle pressure or traction into key joints and boney areas. Being met at this deep level is truly reassuring and affirming, allowing a safe relaxing of any held tension. Promoting deep relaxation allows the body-mind to rest and then feel restored. Any problems, concerns, can be addressed from a different, more supported perspective. The physical body can feel gently adjusted, so that movement is easier, balanced, more grounded – essentially ‘more at ease’ with itself.
A session can last around 45 minutes and will help you feel rested, refreshed with a sense of improved clarity. A set of 3-5 sessions spread over a number of weeks/months can help address long standing unresolved issues, as well as helping to promote on-going health and well-being. Being supported in this way is a great way of improving immunity and helping with illness and stress prevention, enabling you to look ahead with greater confidence and energy.
