Herbal Medicine

Anna.jpg

Anna Newton

I have lived in Britain for 32 years, but originally I am from Poland. In the eighties I went to London University and after graduating I worked for several years as a computer animator for natural history TV programmes.

Sixteen years ago I decided to turn my life-long experience of using medicinal herbs into a professional career.  I obtained a degree in Herbal Medicine from the University of Wales and for the last twelve years I have been running a successful herbal medicine practice in Cheltenham. I am a council member of Britain’s most prestigious professional organisation for herbalists: the College of Practitioners of Phytotherapy. I am a passionate gardener and grow a number of medicinal herbs in my garden, some of which I process into tinctures, creams and syrups.

My book “Herbs for Home Treatment” draws on my experience of using herbs personally and in my practice. It is practical, rational and easy to use. It reflects my belief that blending modern scientific research with the empirical traditions of the past gives you the best of both worlds.
