Flora Scott

Flora has a passion for nurturing both people and plants. She has a background in both Fine Art and horticulture.  After studying horticulture, Flora worked as a grower on organic herb farms and medicinal herb nurseries which inspired a deep passion for herbal medicine. Flora graduated with distinction as a professional medical herbalist with Betonica School of Herbal Medicine where she studies for four years covering in-depth studies of materia medica, botany, pathology, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, nutrition and over 500 hours of clinical training. Flora currently teaches herbal pharmacy, materia medica, botany and growing to the first year undergraduates at the school.

Flora is a member of the professional body of herbal practitioners ‘The National Institute of Medical Herbalists’. She is dedicated to treating patients with herbs, whether it be a chronic condition, recurrent infection or short-term illness. She aims to restore both emotional and physical health by providing relaxed, non-judgmental, and friendly consultations where patients are deeply listened to.

Aside from treating patients, Flora enjoys connecting people with plant medicine through running guided herb walks in rural Gloucestershire where she shares knowledge about wild plant identification, botany, foraging and plant folklore. She is passionate about teaching people to grow their own medicine and is a gardener who grows a number of medicinal herbs, some of which are processed into medicines.
